“How do I file a successful VA disability claim?”
A major reason VA disability claims are so frustrating and bewildering is that a claimant is essentially on their own until the appellate stage of the process. Veterans Service Organizations are fantastic and do their best to help, but many of the representatives are not trained in the law. Therefore, VSOs don’t always understand what evidence you should include in your claim or how to present it. Compounding the problem is the fact that there is not a lot of clear, reliable information on initial claim submissions from individuals who understand the law and have experienced the process first-hand.
I have created a VA claim preparation and submission packet that is intended to aid you in this process. In the packet you will find: (1) a checklist that sets forth a hypothetical timeline for your claim, the evidence you need to gather, and the steps you need to take to develop and submit your claim; (2) a summary of evidence sheet that you will use to present your evidence to the VA rater in a clear and concise manner; and (3) three different examples of affidavits that you should strive to include in your claim.
All of the materials in the packet are for guidance only. Nothing in the packet constitutes legal advice. By downloading this packet, you understand that the use of these materials does not create an attorney-client relationship.
I am, however, happy to answer any general questions regarding the materials at no cost. If you have a question, please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
